when i think about the women in my life, how we are all spread out all over this country, and even other countries. i am amazed at just how truly blessed i am. this past weekend i got to experience the joy of being with 4 of them. we visited saugatuck michigan and spent a weekend, it’s about a 6 hour drive to begin with, but i got lost coming home and added almost an hour onto my drive. needless to say i am a bit tired, and with all the unpacking i had to do, this will be a brief post. i’ll post more at a later time. yes carrie this means it will not be in realtime ;) .

my wonderful friend sarah made this incredible one of a kind bird bath. she is an amazing talent. it says it takes a special friend to earn the name forever. i will get better close up shots, but for now here’s one showing how beautifully it fits into my garden.

unpacking included this incredible haul, my friend amy is a coupon queen. she shared the wealth with her friends, and this is just the tip of the iceberg, she sent stuff home with three of us, so this is just a portion of what she brought. after i took this photo i found two more things i had packed in another bag. this truly blows my mind.  please ignore the half dead plants i haven’t gotten around too yet.

i got home and pepper was out on the back porch. she was a bit miffed when i left and not much happier when i returned. she kept her distance, big time. after unloading the car it started to rain, i moved her food dish to the back porch so she would have shelter, and gave her fresh water. she does not forgive so easily.

after all that driving, and unpacking, putting the clothes away, putting the groceries away (thank you amy). i was so hungry, and not at all in the mood to cook. i thought about ordering a pizza, but before i reached for the phone, i remembered i had some amazing potato soup in the fridge. the last night there amy made this incredible soup. i really hope it becomes a camping tradition. thanks for supper tonight amy. i love you all!
