stan hywet hall offered a haunted mansion tour this year, sharon, mom and i went out for a spooky adventure. stan hywet was the home of the siberling family, one of the founders of goodyear. a 65 room mansion, they took you on a tour by flashlight. all the lights were off both inside and out. the picture is a bit blurry, it was actually quite dark and this was taken using a night scene setting, with no tripod. (it was the best of the bunch)

we started out on the grounds, you walk through then garden and up the birch tree allee, you come to a small area known as the tea house, it’s here that an in-law of f.a. siberling, knowing he had cancer, shot himself in the head. next you walk across the great lawn to the back of the house and through the english garden. our host told stories of a suicide at near by hale farm, finally after our grounds tour, we entered the house and into the music room. the staff has reported sightings of mrs sieberling on the musicians balcony, as well as a mysterious lady in gray walking along the second floor balcony. we continued down into the basement where our guide told stories of the haunted lowe’s theater. there were a few other stories too, to many to remember them all, but all of them based around the mansion or other area landmarks. overall it was a nice evening out with my mom and sis, but not a very frightening tour. neither the house nor grounds were decorated for halloween, but it was fun to roam the house with nothing but a flashlight and your imagination to guide your way.
