fall means, well, leaves

i know, i know, right now you are thinking that’s what i like about stacey, her ability to state the obvious. i have been living here for ten years, and i do not rake leaves. if i owned my leaves, maybe. well now let’s be honest, even if i did own my leaves i still probably wouldn’t rake them. as it is i rent my leaves, therefore i mulch them and leave them there to blow away into other people’s yards. now you’re thinking, so glad i don’t live next to her.

with this wonderfully warm weather we are having this week i decided to get out and mow the yard. i always try to cut it low one more time before winter, and not knowing what next week will bring, i decided i had better get to it. plenty of leaves in the backyard awaiting their fate.

with three quarters of an acre to mow, it takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes with a push mower, really good exercise. it felt good once the yard was cut. even pepper came out to inspect the yard. (or maybe she was inspecting the newly filled bird feeders)
