good night and good luck

it’s wednesday morning and it’s over. actually it was over at eleven o’clock last night. barack obama carried twenty eight states plus d.c., with missouri cancelling it’s self out. i have to be honest, in my opinion obama is still not the best candidate for president. the best candidate for president did not receive the democratic nomination. he is/was however the better candidate. john mccain waited too long in his bid for the white house, had he run eight years ago against gore his campaign may have had a different ending. it was a tough sell for any republican candidate, the american people are fed up with gwb and republican party politics.  watching the local elections alomost every republican candidate lost their campaign. obama won 384 electoral votes to mccain’s abysmal 163. less than half of what obama brought in. as mccain said in his concession speech last night, the american people have spoken. watching election coverage on nbc last night, one of the things ann curry said was the seventy two percent of americans felt that sarah palin was not qualified, i think she was the final nail in the mccain campaign’s coffin. who could possible take her seriously, and if anything  should happen to mcaain in office do you really want caribou barbie running the white house? haven’t we already suffered enough with eight long years of buffoon “leadership” sitting in the oval office? i blame the government, more specifically gwb for the current condition of our nation. we as a nation are bankrupt. i blame the voters, every single last one of you who voted for gwb even more. you knew who you were putting in the white house, maybe not the first time around, but definitely the second time around.

i stayed up entirely too late last night and this morning i am dragging. i am energized however by the prospect of hope. that maybe obama can make a difference. for the first time in years i do not look at washington and think they are the problem, i can now look to washington with hope that they will be the solution. with a senate and house that are overwhelmingly democrat, maybe we can get something accomplished. it’s a long road, and gwb has made a mess. you can’t help but wonder if he knows what a disaster he is as president, does he realize what a farce his presidency was? what amazes me is that so far, no one at work is talking about the most historic election in recent history. not a peep.

i will miss tina fey as sarah palin though, it was the best thing about sarah palin, the snl parodies.
