today was my day off. i have had a perfect day. i slept in until eight, ate breakfast in my jams, and then got ready for the day. i stepped outside and pepper was waiting for breakfast, the ground was covered in a blanket of white, undisturbed, except for the kitty prints leading up to the front door. the snow was falling from the sky. each snowflake kinda danced in the air as it slowly fell to the ground. i took a breath, took a moment, and let out a contented sigh. i could feel the magic in the air, magical snow softly drifting from the sky bringing a world of wonder and possibilities along with it.
i packed up the car and headed out to the post office, stood in line and waited my turn. i got mel today, my favorite post office employee. he always greets me with a cheerful smile and lights up my day. i sent my packages on their way, full of snailie love and christmas joy. i spent the better part of the day snug in my house, sipping hot tea and watching the snow fall outside my window. i also accomplished quite a bit of warm woolly goodness. dad’s afghan is now completely finished, every stitch knitted with love, every seam sewn with care. he always comments on how cold his legs are and this year he will have warm woolly goodness to keep them toasty.
i used a three kbo on my afghan, i plan to add a leaf border to the edges and then it will need to be blocked one more time before it is done. since there its no deadline for this, (it’s been almost two years as it is) i think i’ll wait until i get the christmas hats done.
a day spent sipping tea, knitting, watching harry potter movies and snowflake ballet . the perfect day if your me.
