and then the bottom drops out

i went down to see dad tonight after work. his gp was in and reviewed the stress test results. there’s heart muscle damage, but they feel they can recover thirty six percent heart function which is enough to make a difference in quality of life. he looks better, and is not as short of breath, and does not fatigue as quickly. according to his gp, they have stabilized his kidneys enough that they do not feel he would end up with dialysis. they feel the benefits out weigh the risk at this point, but of course it’s the cardiologist’s call. hopefully that will get settle tomorrow. his blood sugar levels have stabilized and they are working on clearing up the cellulitits. for now it’s hurry up and wait, but it looks like we are headed for surgery. most likely angioplasty, it would be his eighth one.

positivity for today. driving home from the hospital tonight, i was so tired. i ran a few errands before finally heading home. i returned a few phone calls, one of them was my friend jen. i was on the phone with her when i made her swear never to tell jenny craig what she was about to hear, and then ordered a dq blizzard. we both started laughing. i needed that laugh as much as i did the blizzard!
