i spent the night at mom’s. i didn’t sleep all that well and my cold is now full on. that’s right, just getting over laryngitis and now i have a cold. we took the kids to see the latest harry potter, the half blood prince. i had just finished re-reading book six and there were some small changes, such as luna finds harry on the train instead of tonks, and some pointless changes, such as the scene at the weasley’s at christmas where harry and ginny chase greyback and bellatrix lestrange through the fields, and then the weasley’s house is set on fire. this never happened in the book. all i can figure is that this was a slow movie, not much action in the movie, not much action in the book either, until the very end, book six is mostly voldemort’s history, and although it was interesting to me, i can see how it translates into a rather dull movie, the most action took place in the last few chapters, and they changed it. harry never got pulled into the water at the lake full of infri, he was paralyzed by dumbledore at the tower and watched helpless as dumbledore died, and there was a great battle at the school that was left out of the movie entirely. i understand that there is much too much detail in the books to be included in the movie, and i don’t even mind somethings being left out entirely, such as the story line involving fleur. i just don’t understand the need for such drastic changes to the story, we saw more of that in movie five, but still a little tampering going on in movie six. oh well, two more movies left to go. my brother thinks the locket is discovered in book five at sirius black’s house, they just didn’t know what they had. i’ll have to go back and read book five and find out, also book seven is finally out in paperback. about damn time too!
positivity for today, it was a nice family outing and we all went back to my parent’s house for pizza after. most of the family was gathered and it’s always good to see how much my parents enjoy the grandkids.
