did anyone else see the 2008 get smart movie starring steve carell? it didn’t do that well at the box office so i may have been the only one. remember the cone of silence? i finally found my coping mechanism for work. i told my boss yesterday, after all the reindeer games that went on, that from this point forward i was operating in a cone of silence. as in i don’t want to hear it, everyone’s whining, complaining, and back stabbing. all the department gossip, who’s on their third loa since june, who’s coming in three hours late, who’s entitled to special treatment no one else gets. don’t ask, don’t tell. the best thing i can do for myself is distance myself from all the crap and just get myself through my day. this is why i don’t watch reality t.v. (other than dancing with the stars and let’s face it, there’s nothing “real” about it) all the back stabbing and nastiness, i can come to work and get the same thing and get paid for it. why bring that into your home? of course i did clarify to my boss, cone of silence means i don’t want to hear everyone’s griping, but i still expected him to listen to mine! 
positivity for today. my friend and co-worker connie walked into work and someone jumped her as soon as she hit the door. when she finished doing whatever she was doing, she came to my room. i was bending over to pick something up from the floor when i heard her voice behind me saying, well that’s not how i wanted to start my day! and i turned around and said, what? staring at my butt? this brought a big laugh, so at least i did a little something to help ease the start of her day!
